• Hello and welcome to the Canisteo-Greenwood website.  We hope that it provides all of our families and community members with the information, and the many impactful stories, of our district.  The intent is to keep you informed in a timely manner of all the activities that the district has to offer.  Several school employees work diligently to make sure that the website is as up-to-date as possible.

Please feel free to browse through the website and we welcome any suggestions to make it a better experience.

    Message from the Superintendent:

Coming into the 2019-2020 school year, we are excited to bring our community some new and exciting changes.  Our job as a district is to not only prepare our students for an every-changing world, but to be good stewards of the resources that are provided to us by our taxpayers.  Having a student or students attending school can be a financial burden (food, supplies, clothing, supporting events, etc.) and we are doing what we can to ease that.  Through grants and sound accounting practices, we are excited to announce the following:

    • ALL students in grades PreK – 12 will receive free breakfast and lunch.  Proper nourishment is vital to the success of our students.  The district qualifies for this program and we will take advantage of it.  We do ask that you promote participation to your students because the higher participation rate we have, the better the program goes.  Please take advantage of this opportunity!
    • For the 3rd year in a row, school supplies will be provided by the district for all of its students.  With the implementation of 1:1 devices and technological advances, the need for traditional school supplies is diminishing.  We feel that we can provide supplies at a fraction of the cost that you would typically see in stores because we have state contracted suppliers that offer major discounts to schools.
    • FREE admission to sporting events (except fee-required games i.e. county playoffs and sectionals).  Having the community support our students is important to us and we know how costly it can be to bring your family to an event.  This is our way of saying “thank you” for your support of our student-athletes. There will be an admission “fee” and it is: good sportsmanship and a positive attitude.

Building off the momentum of a fantastic 2018-2019 school year (US News and World Report Best High Schools medal and NYSPHSAA School of Distinction), 2019-2020 is shaping up to be a great year.
