    Exercise Your Heart!
Lack of physical activity is a risk factor contributing significantly to four of the six leading cuases of death in the U.S., namely heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes. For more information and tips on heart-healthy exercising, visit us at www.americanheart.org.
Swimming, cycling, jogging or any dozens of other activities can help your heart. Whether it is a structured program or just part of your daily routine, all exercise adds up to a healthy heart.
Here are some tips for exercise success:
    • Choose activities that are fun, not exhausting.
    • Find a convenient time and place to do activities.
    • Try to make exercise a habit, but be flexible. Surround yourself with supportive people.
    • Don't over do it, especially in the beginning. Over time, work up to exercising 3 to 4 times per week for 30 to 60 minutes.
Most of us have sedentary jobs. So what can you do to increase your physical activity at work?
    • Brainstorm with colleagues while walking.
    • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
    • Walk around while waiting for your flight.
    • Form a sports team to raise money for charity events.
    • Schedule exercise on your business calendar and treat it as any other important appointment.
