The Athlete of the Month honor for the month of June is shared by two outstanding CG Varsity Track & Field members: Kylie Williamson and Nolan Gardner.
Kylie is a Steuben County League All-Star as well as a multiple event county champion. She placed in two individual events and anchored two relays that also placed at sectionals. Coach Gerry Amidon had this to say about Kylie: "Kylie is a leader on and off the track. She is always willing to assist in any way she is needed."
Nolan was undefeated in dual meet competition in both the 100M Dash and the 400M Dash. He was also a member of two relay teams that were undefeated in dual meet competitions- the 4x100M Relay and the 4x400M Relay. Nolan was the Steuben County Champion in both the 400M Dash and the 4x100M Relay and was named to the League All-Star team. Coach Jon Amidon had this to say about Nolan "As a senior member of the track and field team, Nolan has provided invaluable leadership throughout the season and has served as a mentor to many of the younger sprinters/athletes. He has been integral to the resurgence of the boys track and field team and over the course of his varsity career, has helped the team compile a dual meet record of 24-2."
